  2. Dr. Janicki's research focuses on patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) and related memory disorders. Her work examines how genetic variations may influence exposure to estrogen and other hormones over the lifetime, which in turn may affect onset or progression of AD or cognitive impairment. She also uses neuroimaging outcomes in older people to explore the neuroanatomic correlates of hormone exposure in aging. She is the recipient of an NIH T32 Award for Research Training in Geriatric Psychiatry, and participates as a co-investigator in numerous ongoing clinical trials in AD and memory disorders through the G.H. Sergievsky Center and the Taub Institute. She sees patients in the Lucy G. Moses Center for Memory and Behavioral Disorders of the Neurological Institute, the Memory Disorders Center of the New York State Psychiatric Institute, and the Columbia University Huntington's Disease Society of America (HDSA) Center of Excellence.
