All of our locations are accessible via public transportation, taxi, and private car. Our largest sites, Columbia University Medical Center in Washington Heights and ColumbiaDoctors Midtown near Rockefeller Center, have subway lines only a few steps away, convenient garage parking, and numerous dining and other services nearby.
Columbia University Medical Center–Washington Heights
The center is located at West 168th Street and Broadway, just southeast of the George Washington Bridge, in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Northern Manhattan. Patient services are provided in several different buildings. Your provider’s office will give you the specific address for your appointments.
By Public Transportation
Subway - Take the 1, A, or C train to the 168th Street station. From midtown Manhattan, the A train provides express service.
A number of city buses serve the medical center: M-2, 3, 4, 5, and 100 and Bx7. For additional bus and subway information, contact the New York City Transit Authority by calling 511 or visiting MTA.info.
The fastest and most convenient way to reach the medical center by car is to follow directions to the George Washington Bridge. Exit onto Riverside Drive. From there, proceed south and turn left onto West 165th Street (the first left), then right onto Fort Washington Avenue, to the medical center parking facility. Valet parking is available at the entrance to the Milstein Hospital Building, at 177 Fort Washington Ave., between 165th and 168th streets.
From upstate New York and New Jersey, after crossing the George Washington Bridge, follow signs to the Henry Hudson Parkway (also called the West Side Highway) and then to Riverside Drive.
From Riverdale and Westchester via the Saw Mill River Parkway, take the Henry Hudson Parkway to the Riverside Drive exit, which is immediately past the George Washington Bridge.
From Westchester, Connecticut, and the East Side of Manhattan via the Major Deegan Expressway, Cross-Bronx Expressway, or Harlem River Drive approaching the George Washington Bridge, take the Henry Hudson Parkway, keep to the left, and follow signs to Riverside Drive.
From the West Side of Manhattan, take the Henry Hudson Parkway to Exit 15–Riverside Drive South.
ColumbiaDoctors Midtown – 51 West 51st Street
ColumbiaDoctors Midtown is in the heart of midtown Manhattan at 51 West 51st St., between 5th and 6th avenues, centrally located within walking distance of many transit lines, including commuter trains at Grand Central Terminal and buses at the Port Authority Bus Terminal. The 1, 2, D, E, F, and M subway lines are close by, and the M-1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, and 50 are among the many bus lines that stop in the immediate area. Getting to ColumbiaDoctors Midtown by car:
From Northern New Jersey, Westchester, the Bronx, and other points north and west of Manhattan, come down the Henry Hudson Parkway (also called the West Side Highway), exiting at 50th Street. Come across 50th Street and turn left onto 6th Avenue. 51 West 51st St. is just steps from the corner of 6th Avenue and 51st Street. From Long Island, Queens, and other points east of Manhattan, take the Midtown Tunnel and upon exiting the tunnel, turn left onto 37th Street. Take the first right onto 3rd Avenue. Turn left onto 51st Street and continue past 5th Avenue. ColumbiaDoctors will be on your right.
From points south and east, come up the FDR Drive, taking the exit for 42nd Street. Turn right onto 3rd Avenue and then left onto 51st Street. ColumbiaDoctors will be on your right.
