About Amber Newell
Amber Newell, MS, PNP, RN, OTR/L is a certified pediatric nurse practitioner at Columbia University Medical Center’s Department of Rehabilitation and Regenerative Medicine. She specializes in seeing patients with Cerebral Palsy and Dystonia.
Amber Newell graduated Magna Cum Laude from Xavier University where she received her undergraduate degree in Occupational Therapy. After working 11 years as a pediatric occupational therapist, she entered Columbia University’s School of Nursing to get her Bachelors in Nursing and Master of Science in Pediatric Advanced Practice Nursing with a subspecialty in Pediatric Palliative Care.
Newell has an extensive background working with medically fragile pediatric population. She focuses on using a multidisciplinary approach where she works with OTs, PTs, and physiatrists to provide the care the child most needs. Her goal is to provide the best rehabilitation care in order for the patient to have a higher quality of life across their lifespan.
