About Stephanie Lovinsky-Desir
Dr. Stephanie Lovinsky-Desir is an attending physician in the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology at Columbia University Medical Center and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Columbia University. She specializes in the treatment of children with respiratory disorders, particularly pediatric asthma. She is actively engaged in the clinical asthma program at Columbia and in pediatric asthma research. Dr. Lovinsky-Desir's research is focused on understanding the environmental factors that put children at risk of developing asthma and having worse asthma symptoms in urban communities. She is currently leading research studies to understand how exercise in polluted communities affects children with asthma. In addition, she works closely with the Inner City Asthma Studies research consortium.
