Dacryocystocele

Dacryocystocele is a bluish swelling between the nose and the lower eyelid. It is caused by a blockage of both ends of the tear duct sac and occurs mostly in newborns. It can cause an infection and can block the nasal passage, making it hard for the baby to breathe.

Dacryocystoceles can sometimes be managed with massage, but they are often treated with surgery. They may require antibiotics.
