Surgical oncologist

A surgical oncologist is a medical doctor who has special training in cancer surgery.

They may take a sample of tissue (biopsy) to find out if there is cancer or to learn more about what type of cancer you have. The sample will be tested in a lab. Or they may do surgery to remove cancer or see how far it has spread.
