Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology
Gynecology
Make an Appointment
Our team is here to help you make an appointment with the specialists that you need.
Although relatively few young girls will need to see a gynecologist, when a problem arises, it is important to find the right practitioner. Our experts in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology (PAG) are helping to pioneer this small but growing field and have established the only program of its kind in the New York area. We currently log over 2,000 patient visits each year, providing the most sensitive and comprehensive care available for girls from birth to early adulthood.
Our Experts
Our experts in gynecology are affiliated with Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, one of the top children’s hospitals in the nation. We have the ability to treat the most complex cases, and provide immediate access to many medical disciplines.
Our Care
Our young patients have unique needs and require specialized evaluation, treatment, and follow-up. Gynecologic problems can occur in female infants, children, and adolescents, and are often different from those affecting adults.
Our Services
We offer a comprehensive range of services for the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of gynecologic disorders in childhood and adolescence, including
- Abnormal puberty
- Menstrual disorders
- Breast abnormalities
- Congenital anomalies of the female reproductive tract
- Disorders of sexual development
- Endometriosis
- Pelvic pain
- Ovarian cysts
- Polycystic ovarian syndrome
- Fertility preservation
Our physicians ensure that your daughter’s first visit to the gynecologist is a positive experience and that all examinations are age-appropriate.
Resources
We also provide educational resources for our young patients and their families: When appropriate, your daughter will be taught about her body, normal development, and healthy behaviors and habits.
We also work with pediatric oncologists to counsel our young cancer patients and their families about future fertility issues and are experts in fertility preservation.
Collaboration with other pediatric experts is vital when caring for young females with complex medical issues. When necessary, we consult with specialists in pediatric surgery, urology, genetics, endocrinology, hematology/oncology, gastroenterology, dermatology, rheumatology, general pediatrics and adolescent medicine. This team approach ensures that your child will receive the best care possible.
