How Do I Get Started?

You can start a second opinion online or by phone. Please be prepared to:

  • Register and create an account using your email address.
  • Have a valid credit card ready to pay the ColumbiaDoctors Second Opinion fee of $800. This fee is not covered by your insurance and is due when you begin the second opinion process.
  • Have a list of your local doctors available whom Grand Rounds should contact to obtain your medical records or those of the patient, as well as the doctors' contact information.
  • Provide information about yourself or the patient, such as demographic details and specifics about the medical condition.

    Begin your case by creating an account and providing your information to us. We will assign a care coordinator to assist you.

  2. Gather

    The care team gets to work, doing the legwork and gathering your medical records. Then we send your information to the best physician for your condition.

  3. Analyze

    An expert ColumbiaDoctors physician receives your medical records and reviews your case. We provide you with a written second opinion in 3-5 days.

  4. Report

    You’re now armed with knowledge. Review your report and make an informed decision with your local physician.
