Outreach and Screenings
ColumbiaDoctors is working to improve access to the care you need, whether you work at CUIMC or live in the surrounding community.
In collaboration with clinical departments and Columbia community partners, we provide healthcare education, free health screenings, and fun swag.

Bringing Care to You
Whether it's the CUIMC campus, All Hallows High School in the Bronx, or Yankees Stadium, ColumbiaDoctors Outreach is committed to meeting patients where they are. One example: Outreach staffs a table during the weekly Haven Plaza Farmers Market, bringing bilingual clinicians, information, screenings, and appointments directly to community members.
Reducing Barriers to Care
ColumbiaDoctors Outreach was one of 25 people and programs recognized in 2023 as Champions of Health Equity by Cancer Health.
The magazine, which focuses on news for cancer patients, survivors, and their families, created the awards to honor individuals and teams that work tirelessly to define and address disparities in cancer care. Cancer Health praised the Outreach program for its commitment to providing cancer screenings and other essential health services to the residents of Washington Heights through on-site events and school health days.
"What began as a series of skin screenings and educational events for the communities has evolved into a multidisciplinary array of offerings, including eye exams, flu shots, mammograms, prostate cancer screenings and more," Cancer Health wrote.

2024 Events
Haven Plaza Farmers Market
Dates: Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Haven Plaza
Starting June 18, look for the ColumbiaDoctors Outreach team on Haven Plaza at the Farmer’s Market. Representatives from ColumbiaDoctors Nurse Practitioner Group will be joined each week by staff from a rotating group of clinical departments to provide information, education, screenings, and more.
