Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism

The endocrine system is comprised of glands and organs that produce hormones that regulate the body's growth, metabolism, and development. It influences virtually all bodily functions and organ systems: from how the heart beats, to the growth of bones and tissues, to maintaining blood sugar levels, to governing the ability to reproduce.

The wide spectrum of diseases involving the endocrine system requires comprehensive care—something patients find under one roof at ColumbiaDoctors, where internationally recognized experts in all aspects of endocrinology work collaboratively to advance patient care and medical science.

Endocrine-related illnesses encompass a wide variety of conditions, including diabetes, thyroid diseases, sexual dysfunction, osteoporosis, other metabolic bone diseases, pituitary disorders, and adrenal gland malfunction. Our highly regarded endocrinologists and endocrine surgeons are authorities in their areas of expertise, applying the most effective medications, advanced technologies and innovative techniques available to care for patients.

ColumbiaDoctors endocrinologists and endocrine surgeons bring the resources of a world-class medical center to treat patients with endocrine-related disorders. We are committed to providing multidisciplinary, patient-centered endocrine care, including access to the latest therapies and clinical trials.

Our experts work within highly focused, specialized clinical centers, including:

Adrenal Center

Our center is one of a few select programs in the nation that offer complete multidisciplinary care to serve patients with adrenal disorders, including Conn’s Syndrome, Cushing’s Syndrome, rare tumors such as pheochromocytoma, paraganglioma, and sex-hormone-producing adrenal tumors, adrenal cancer, and metastatic disease to the adrenal gland. For each patient, our team of endocrinologists, radiologists, nephrologists, geneticists, cardiologists, and endocrine surgeons work together to plan the optimal treatment for the specific disorder and its effects on the rest of the body. With a dedicated endovascular facility and the most advanced diagnostic equipment available, we are able to perform over 95 percent of our surgeries using minimally invasive techniques.
