COVID-SAFE Information for Parents

Columbia Children's Health has implemented additional measures to keep our patients, their parents or caretakers, and our staff safe and healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic. We want to reassure you that we are taking every possible precaution, and we appreciate your cooperation when you and your child come for your appointment.

Your Visit to Columbia Children's Health

To protect the safety of our patients and staff, we ask you and your family members to adhere to the following guidelines: 

  • If you or your child has a fever, dry cough, fatigue, body aches, or other flu-like symptoms please stay home! We can reschedule your appointment.
  • Children should come to their appointment with one parent or care provider (no siblings, relatives, or friends, please). If additional caregivers would like to participate, we encourage them to call in to the visit.
  • All patients two years and older and their caretakers must wear masks. If you do not have a mask we will provide one for you when you arrive.
  • Please arrive 15 to 20 minutes before your appointment for screening. 
  • In waiting rooms please maintain social distancing,
  • Hand sanitizer is available in all of our patient areas. Please use it frequently.

Our Commitment to Your Safety  

We are taking extra precautions to keep our patients safe. Here’s what you can expect from us: 

  • Remote Registration: We will register your child remotely, before his or her appointment.
  • Patient screening: Before you enter the facility we will take your temperature and your child's using contactless thermometers and will ask a few questions.  
  • Cleaning and Disinfecting: We have implemented additional thorough and frequent disinfecting measures in our consultation rooms, rest rooms, and waiting areas.
  • Social Distancing: We are minimizing the use of our waiting areas and will escort you and your child directly to a consultation room.

We encourage all our families to sign up for Connect, the new ColumbiaDoctors patient portal. It's easy to sign up and will help you manage all of your appointments online.
