Radiology

ColumbiaDoctors pediatric radiologists specialize in performing and interpreting imaging studies for children of all ages, from newborns to adolescents. We use the newest generation of low-dose equipment specially designed or adapted for children, enabling us to provide state-of-the-art diagnostic examinations.

We perform close to 60,000 imaging studies each year, giving us extraordinary experience in visualizing pediatric anatomy and exceptional expertise in making an accurate diagnosis.

Our Doctors

Our board certified pediatric radiologists are kind, compassionate, and available to patients, parents, and their referring physicians. Every imaging study receives a high quality radiology report from a pediatric radiologist.

Our pediatric radiologists are leaders in the field of radiation reduction, vascular anomalies imaging, and radiology education. We provide high quality images while maintaining minimal radiation doses, as well as appropriate radiation protection for all patients, visitors, and staff.

Our Expertise

In keeping with our commitment to low-dose imaging for children, we have installed state-of-the-art imaging equipment called Scoliosis Imaging with EOS, which offers high quality 2D and 3D images of a child’s anatomy while delivering considerably lower radiation dose than conventional radiography. Since children with conditions like scoliosis (curvature of the spine) may have to undergo numerous imaging studies over the years during which they are treated for their condition, low-dose imaging is key.

Our Approach

As pediatric radiologists, we understand the unique needs of children, parents, and pediatricians, and we work collaboratively as part of your child’s healthcare team to provide image interpretation in a timely manner to facilitate an accurate and efficient diagnosis. Our goal is to provide your child and family with the best possible care.

We also understand that children coming for X-rays, ultrasounds, CT scans, MRI scans, and other imaging tests may feel anxious about their visit. To help you and your child deal with any anxiety, our technologists and physicians will carefully explain each step of your child’s procedure. Our team also includes specialists from the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital Child Life Service, whose goal is to help your child feel secure and comfortable during their test.
