Fetal Cardiac Program

ColumbiaDoctors fetal cardiac program, located at NewYork-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, is among the largest in the country. Each year we see more than 1,000 new patients and perform more than 1,900 fetal echocardiograms.

Fetal heart problems detected during pregnancy may be due to primary errors in heart development (congenital heart disease), abnormal heart rhythms, or primary and secondary functional disturbances arising from identical twin pregnancies complicated by twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome or maternal illnesses such as diabetes. We evaluate and care for all forms of fetal heart disease, from minor to the most complex.
