Pediatric Gastrointestinal Motility Center
The Pediatric Gastrointestinal Motility Center at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital is one of only a few centers in the country providing comprehensive testing, consultation, and treatment of motility disorders in infants, children, teens and young adults. Our experts offer a multidisciplinary and highly customized approach to patient care along with the latest, and most advanced treatments. Our goal is to help you understand the reasons for your child's symptoms and to improve quality of life.
Specialists at The Pediatric Gastrointestinal Motility Center evaluate and manage a wide range of conditions including functional abdominal pain/irritable bowel syndrome, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), chronic constipation, chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction, achalasia (impaired ability of the esophagus to move food toward the stomach), Hirschprung's disease and other congenital anomalies, and fecal incontinence (bowel control problems).
Our team works closely with referring pediatricians and pediatric gastroenterologists when their young patients with suspected gastrointestinal motility disorders require further help. A Child Life specialist is always available to help your child understand our evaluation and any necessary treatment or procedure.
