Quest Diagnostics - Frequently Asked Questions
Does Quest Diagnostics take my insurance? How do I find a location that is near me?
Quest Diagnostics accepts most insurances. Please visit www.questdiagnostics.com to see if your insurance is accepted and to find a location near you. Office hours vary by location, so please check www.questdiagnostics.com or call the location you are interested in visiting to confirm their hours of operation.
What if my insurance requires that I use a different laboratory service center?
You are still able to use other laboratory service centers for your lab draw needs. Please tell your care team if this applies to you.
Do I need to make an appointment to visit a Quest location?
While walk-ins are accepted, scheduled appointments are strongly recommended and take priority over walk-ins. Quest offers an online scheduling tool which can be found by visiting www.questdiagnostics.com. If you need any help, please call 1-866-697-8378.
Does the priority of a test (urgent/routine) affect the charge for laboratory services?
No, you will not receive different charges based on the priority of your tests.
How do I get my test results?
You will continue to receive your test results the same way you do now, through Connect - the online patient portal for NewYork-Presbyterian, ColumbiaDoctors, and Weill Cornell Medicine. Your care team will see your test results through your electronic medical record.
Am I going to receive a bill from Quest?
Quest may bill your insurance company for their services. Depending on your insurance plan coverage, you may receive a bill for any outstanding balance.
Who do I contact if I have any questions?
If you have any questions regarding where you should have your lab work done, please speak with your healthcare provider. If you have questions about the bills you receive, please reach out to the contact information found on your explanation of benefits (EOB) letter, or billing statement, for additional help.
