Do you take my insurance?
Columbia Primary Care accepts most commercial and government insurance plans. Each doctor lists the insurance plans they accept on their profile pages. Find out if your doctor accepts your insurance by looking at their profile under Our Providers.
How do I pick a primary care provider (PCP)?
Selecting a PCP is a very personal decision— it’s a relationship you’ll keep over a long period of time. We encourage you to explore the Our Providers section. It’s a great way to get to know our team and to find the best partner to help you manage your health. If you have any questions, please contact our office directly.
Do you offer online appointments?
Yes! Columbia Primary Care offers Virtual Visits for both adults and children using our secure patient portal. It’s a fast and convenient way to get the care you need. And you’ll get the same quality service you would with an in-person visit.

What if I need a specialist?
By partnering with Columbia Primary Care, you’ll have access to a network of over 1800 world-renowned specialists. Your primary care team will coordinate your referrals and help you make appointments with the specialist.
How do I contact my care team?
The fastest way to reach your care team is through Columbia Connect, our patient portal. Through Columbia Connect, you can:
- Make appointments
- Communicate with your doctor and their staff.
- Request referrals
- Get medication refills
- View test results
- Pay your bills

How I do refill my prescription?
The fastest way to get a medication refill is to contact your pharmacy directly. You may need to reach our offices for some medication refills such as controlled substances. Please contact your doctor and their team using the practice phone number listed under Our Locations. Our offices will address prescription refill requests during the same business day.
You can also request a refill through the Columbia Connect patient portal.
What do I do when I need a form completed?
Please allow three business days for our office to complete forms. Forms can be shared with us via Columbia Connect or via the fax number shown for your office under Our Locations.
What if I need urgent care and the clinic is closed?
- For urgent needs that can’t wait until the next visit day, call the practice phone number. You’ll be connected to the PCP on call.
- To speak with a doctor about an urgent issue from the comfort of your own home, please use the NewYork-Presbyterian Virtual Urgent Care.
- Visit your local urgent care for an in-person visit.
- For life-threatening emergencies, please call 911 or go to the NewYork-Presbyterian Emergency Room at 622 West 168th Street, 525 E 68th Street, or another emergency room closest to you.
When should I expect test results? How do I get them?
The fastest way to view your test results and any additional instructions from your doctor is through our Columbia Connect patient portal. Depending on the type of test, results are often available within 24 hours. Otherwise, your doctor or their staff will communicate the results to you as soon as they are available, typically within the same business day.
