Chronic Pain Care

Pain affects everyone at some point in their life. For many, pain occurs for only a short period of time, alerting them to possible injury or illness and allowing them to address and treat their problem. But for some people, the pain never goes away, becoming a persistent and stressful long-term condition.

Chronic pain can have a debilitating impact on not only a person’s ability to enjoy normal everyday activities but also their physical and emotional well-being. And though it can develop as a result of an injury or illness, in many cases chronic pain has no clear cause at all, making it often difficult to diagnose and treat.

The Pain Management Center is a leading authority on the diagnosis and treatment of chronic pain. Our expert staff of highly trained, board-certified pain management doctors take a multidisciplinary approach to identifying and treating chronic pain, drawing from extensive research, clinical trials, and professional expertise to provide the highest level of personalized care to our patients.

Using the latest techniques and state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, our team works closely with patients to address their chronic pain and its underlying causes and plan the best course of treatment for each individual. We specialize in the latest non-operative procedures to diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Arthritis pain
  • Low back pain
  • Cancer pain
  • Headaches
  • Phantom limb pain
  • Pelvic pain

At the Pain Center, our patients come first. We understand that each person experiences pain differently and that treatment is not one-size-fits-all.

We treat the whole person, offering a comprehensive multidisciplinary approach to care and employing state-of-the-art minimally invasive techniques, combined with non-narcotic medications, physical therapy, acupuncture and cognitive behavioral therapy in a caring, comfortable environment. Treatment methods include:

  • Medical Management: opioids, antidepressants, anticonvulsants, topical medications, and other pharmacologic therapies
  • Radiographically Guided and Other Injections: spinal injections, peripheral nerve blocks, trigger-point injections
  • Intravenous Infusions: lidocaine, intravenous blocks, inpatient ketamine infusions
  • Implantable Devices: spinal-cord stimulation, intrathecal drug-delivery system (“pain pump”)
  • Behavior/Psychological Cognitive: behavioral therapy, stress-management techniques, biofeedback, group therapy, family counseling
  • Other Therapies: TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation), acupuncture

We are fully committed to helping our chronic-pain patients find relief from their discomfort, regain mobility and lead full, active, pain-free lives.
