Injectable Fillers & Botox

Achieving your aesthetic goals doesn’t always require surgery. At Columbia, we offer injectable treatments like dermal fillers and Botox as short-term, noninvasive alternatives to smooth lines, restore volume, and refine facial contours—with little to no downtime.

Our board-certified professionals take a thoughtful, individualized approach, focusing on results that look natural, balanced, and true to you.

What’s the Difference Between Fillers and Botox?

Dermal fillers are gel-like substances that plump the skin and enhance contours by adding volume and filling deep lines. Some dermal fillers are made of synthetic, human-made materials, while others contain substances that are naturally found in the body.

Dermal fillers are effective at:

  • Restoring volume to hollow areas of the face, such as the cheeks, temples, or under the eyes
  • Adding volume to the lips, chin, or jawline
  • Filling in creases around the eyes, nose, or mouth
  • Reducing the appearance of acne scars
  • Temporarily reshaping the nose (also known as non-surgical rhinoplasty) by smoothing bumps, lifting the nasal tip, or adding height to the nasal bridge

Botox is an injectable treatment used to minimize and prevent wrinkles caused by repeated facial expressions. Botox is one brand of botulinum toxin serotype A, which is a naturally occurring chemical that relaxes muscles, reducing how much they move. Targeted Botox injections soften lines and help maintain a smoother appearance.

Botox may help:

  • Erase lines and wrinkles around the forehead, eyebrows, eyes, and cheeks
  • Prevent new wrinkles from forming
  • Improve facial symmetry
  • Lift the eyebrows

Injectable Fillers and Botox at Columbia

During your visit, our facial plastic surgeons will evaluate your facial structure, skin elasticity, and texture to recommend the most effective treatment for your goals.

At Columbia, we only use FDA-approved, brand-name injectable treatments, including Botox and the following fillers:

  • JUVÉDERM and Restylane: These products use hyaluronic acid to plump the skin and lips. Hyaluronic acid is naturally found throughout the body, including the skin, where it adds hydration, volume, elasticity, and reduces scarring.
  • Sculptra: Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid, a chemical that helps your skin produce collagen. This treatment is effective for addressing volume loss around the eyes and cheeks and fills lines around the nose and mouth.

What to Expect From Injectable Fillers and Botox

Injectable treatments are performed in the office and take less than an hour. A small needle is used to precisely place the product in the targeted areas.

You may experience mild swelling, redness, or bruising that usually resolves within a few days, and most patients return to normal activities the same day.

Results vary depending on the treatment:

  • Botox: Botox results develop over several days and typically last for three to four months.
  • Fillers: Most dermal fillers provide immediate results, though Sculptra injections take a few weeks to have noticeable effects. Results can last for several months to over a year, depending on the product used.

Your care team will guide you on timing, maintenance, and recommended follow-up appointments to help your results last.
