Imaging Technology

Our specialists offer several treatments and services for conditions affecting the cornea including:

  • Corneal Topography – a photography scan that finds distortions of the cornea that is supposed to be smooth. It can be used to monitor and as a plan for surgery and for contact lens fittings.
  • Pentacam Imaging – imaging technique to scan for keratoconus and other corneal diseases as well as glaucoma.
  • Specular Microscopy – a photographic technique to analyze the size and shape of the cornea. that allows you to visualize and analyze the corneal endothelium.
  • Confocal Microscopy – a noninvasive technique that takes images of the entire corneal thickness and lesions.
  • Anterior Segment Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) – a non-contact imaging technique that takes high-resolution images and measurements of the anterior portion of the eye and its anatomical structures.
  • Meibography (LipiScan) – a meibomian gland high-definition imager.
  • Lipiflow Thermal Pulsation – The LipiFlow Thermal Pulsation system is an effective treatment for meibomian gland dysfunction, which causes dry eye symptoms. This treatment takes less than 15 minutes and is virtually painless, applying heat and gentle pressure to the inner eyelids in order to release the lipids needed to produce natural tear film. Most patients report decreased dry eye symptoms for about six months to a year following a single treatment.
